Safety
Safety is paramount! We want everyone to go home to their family in the same condition they arrived in. You will be instructed on adhering to proper safety protocols and are expected to diligently follow all instructions. Any instances of inappropriate behavior will be promptly addressed by our team.
Off-Grid Homestead Environment
The Broken Tine is an off-grid homestead environment with no cell service, wi-fi, grid-tied electricity or running water. All utilities are strictly off-grid and self-sustaining. In an emergency situation, cell service is available about 1/4 mile outside of the entrance gate at the top of the hill.
Instructors
At The Broken Tine, you'll find that our instructors are not only seasoned experts in their field but also great guys who love what they do and are eager to help. Feel free to ask questions. The only dumb question is the one that doesn't get asked.
How should I dress?
- Weather appropriate clothing
- Long sleeves & loose fitting or stretchy long pants are recommended
- Hat or ball-cap
- Hair ties if you have long hair
- Shoes or boots - Should be comfortable and provide good support
- For those in tactical training - Belt - riggers belt, thick leather belt to hold up pants and gear in place - Knee pads are optional
What's for lunch?
For courses that are scheduled to last all day, there will be a one hour break. A Texas barbeque plate lunch and bottled water will be provided. You are also free to bring your own lunch / drinks or run to town during this time.
